W2CW Graduates Second Cohort, Welcomes Spouses In Third

Second Cohort

Veteran training program, Warrior to Cyber Warrior, graduated its second cohort of cyber security professionals as it welcomes a new, third cohort to the program. The non-profit organization provides career training that links America’s returning Veterans and Wounded Warriors to employers in need of qualified cyber security professionals through training and career placement. The W2CW program is a six-month, tuition-free cyber security training and certification program that gives Veterans and wounded service members the skills needed to transition from the military to a career as a cyber security professional.

The second graduating cohort included Veterans from all branches of the military, the Wounded Warrior program, and the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Care Coalition. “I found the program rewarding and extremely helpful,” said W2CW cohort student and United States Navy Veteran, Kevin Crockett. “I am extremely hopeful I can begin transitioning my career in the near future.”

In addition to the graduation of W2CW’s second cohort, the organization is proud to announce the start of the third cohort for the year. With the start of the third cohort, the W2CW program has now begun to accept the applications from spouses of Wounded Warriors. Jill Whetstone, wife of a United States Army Special Forces veteran, is excited about the program and opportunities W2CW provides, “I’m just now getting my feet on the ground and starting to understand the whole concept. My expectations are already being realized in that I expected to learn as much as possible about Cyber Security.” Whetstone plans to attain all certifications possible by completing the W2CW program and “be able to confidently move forward with this new career.” Upon completion of the W2CW program, all students will be Security+ certified and have understandings of various legislative or regulatory-mandated processes.
