The Warrior To Cyber Warrior (W2CW) Initiative Gives Back On Veterans Day: Free Cyber Certifications For Vets And Active Duty Military

In Honor of Veteran’s Day

In honor of Veterans Day, the W2CW initiative today announced that Veterans and Active Duty Military will be entitled to take one exam in the Cyber Certified Experts (CCE) Program free of charge. Made possible through a generous donation from the Lunarline School of Cyber Security (SCS), this free online certification will be available for one year starting November 11th, 2016.

“Here at Lunarline we don’t just protect our clients. Through the W2CW Initiative, we work hard to protect those who protect us,” said Waylon Krush, W2CW founding Board Member. “As a Service Disabled Veteran, it is my privilege to partner with the W2CW Initiative and to honor Veterans Day by providing free cyber security certifications to Veterans and Active Duty Military. By equipping them with CE Certifications, we can help our Active Duty Military fight back against modern cybercrime. We can also provide Veterans leaving Active Duty the credentials they need to thrive in the civilian world.”

The Lunarline Cyber Certified Experts Program helps professionals prove to employers that they have what it takes to tackle the hardest challenges in cyber security. Through this Veterans Day offer, Veterans and Active Duty Military will have access to nearly three dozen Certified Expert Certifications covering every conceivable cyber discipline, free of charge, a $350 value.

To register for an exam, select the Certified Expert (CE) credential. Select “Apply for Certification” to get started. You will be prompted to select the promotional package, “Veterans Day Offer”. Be prepared to upload your proof of military service and resume (highlight relevant experience). The Department of Veterans Affairs makes validating military service easy. Just follow these steps:

  • Login to eBenefits
  • Click on the eBenefits logo (top left)
  • Click on VA Letters link
  • Click on Service Verification link
  • Print to .pdf

Be sure to review your desired certification for any minimum experience requirements. Those that pass the exam but do not possess the requisite experience will be awarded the Certified Expert Associate certificate. This certificate can later be upgraded upon obtaining the required experience. While annual certification renewal requires 20 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) and payment of a $75 certification renewal fee, under this program we are waving renewal requirements on the first certification anniversary for Active Duty Military and Veterans.
